The Bodhimaya Method is a science based rejuvenation and health optimisation plan that consists of a personalised diet and short fasts.

We use the BodhiGen process to gather biological data and create someone's individual nutrition programme. We also recommend short fasts throughout the year. These fasting cycles initiate a huge number of metabolic and genetic changes which optimise your health and trigger the body's natural rejuvenation process.

Below is a short weekend cleanse that you can try at home. We always recommend that any fasts longer than a weekend are done under expert supervision. 

General Recommendations

Preparation - Make sure you eat a healthy and balanced diet at lease a week before you begin the cleanse. People with a history of eating disorders, pregnant women and people with certain health conditions should avoid fasting. It is important that you consult your doctor before making any changes to your diet or embarking on any fast or cleanse. Only your doctor can advise you if fasting is suitable.

Drink - around 2.5 litres of water a day in the form of water or herbal tea

Rest - Get plenty of sleep during the weekend and ensure that you clear your diary. Take the time to relax and organise a weekend off from your usual schedule. 

Exercise - Walking, light swimming, gentle yoga or tai chi are recommended. Please avoid intensive exercise and physical activity.

Fasting Symptoms - The fast below is gentle, safe and includes plenty of nutrition, however a fast can cause fatigued, headaches, irritability and digestive changes. These are all mild and transitory. 

Post-Fast - Reintroduce food slowly, only eating chicken, fish, salad and vegetables for a few days after the cleanse. Avoid sugar, alcohol, too much salt, fried foods, red meat and fatty foods for at least a week after the cleanse. Ideally you should now return to your ongoing BodhiGen programme. 

 
 
Bodhimaya Method Juice Detox Smoothie

Friday

Prepare for your weekend ensuring that you have all the ingredients for your cleanse and your juicer 

Eat lightly throughout the day with no snacking and have a thick soup in the evening

Soup Butternut, ginger and turmeric soup

2 tbsp coconut oil

1 onion

1 or 2 cloves of garlic,

minced 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated

Pinch of Smoked paprika

1 butternut squash peeled and cubes

1tsp of cinnamon

1tsp cinnamon

1 Litre water or vegetable stock

Melt coconut oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Sweat the onion, garlic, minced ginger, and smoked paprika for 1 to 2 minutes or just until glossy.  Add butternut squash, salt, cinnamon and turmeric and cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add stock and bring to the boil. Reduce heat, and simmer until carrots are very soft, 20-25 minutes.

Pureé in a high speed blender.

Garnish with very finely grated ginger and a sprinkle or turmeric.


saturday 

Today you will have three juices and an evening soup 

Breakfast Juice

Sprig of Coriander

2 Broccoli Florets

2 Celery sticks

1 slice of  Fennel

1/2 an Apple

Knob of Ginger

½ Lemon

1tsp Spirulina

 

Lunchtime Juice

2 Carrot,

Broccoli Florets,

½ Medium Tomato,

1 Apple,

Small Handful of Blueberries

½ Cucumber

1 Lime,

1tsp Acai powder

 

Afternoon Juice

1 tsp Pumpkin Seeds (blend and add to the juice)

2 Handfuls of Spinach

1 Cucumber,

1 Sprig of Parsley,

1 Pear

½ Small Sweet Potato

2 Handfuls of Kale

1 Handful of Spinach

1 Apple

1 Lemon

1 Celery Stick  

1 slice of Green Cabbage

 

Lunchtime Juice

1 Head of Romaine,

1 Handful of Blueberries

4 Strawberries,

½ Small Beetroot

Sprig of Coriander

1 Lemon

Afternoon Juice

2 Handfuls of Kale,

1 Handful of Blueberries

2 Asparagus Sticks

1 Kiwi

1 Cucumber

Sprig of Parsley

1 Lemon

Broccoli, Courgette & Lentil Evening Soup

120g  lentils soaked and washed

1 onion, chopped

1 large head of broccoli

2 large Courgette

2 pints of Vegetable Stock

Salt, Pepper

Add all ingredients to pan, simmer for about 45 minutes. Blend until smooth.

Monday 

You ave finished your cleanse and can start the with a smoothie bowl. You will need to gently reintroduce food eating lightly and according to the The Bodhimaya Method.

Smoothie Bowl:

4 tsp of Steamed until softened and then cooled pumpkin, carrot or sweet potato puree

1 tsp Cinnamon

1 tbsp Hemp Protein

½ frozen Banana

1 tsp Maca Powder

200ml Nut Milk (add slowly to get desired texture for smoothie bowl)

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend.

Decorate with fresh berries and a few nuts.
